<P><BR>职位描述：<BR>We are seeking a talented web-designer to build and continuously update our new energy-industry web-site. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable and good track record gained in commercial assignments of similar magnitude. This means that they will understand principles of graphic design as they apply to the web. They will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the principles of human-computer interaction and will be able to work with clients and internal staff. They must also possess a good working knowledge of modern web software tools and frameworks to the extent that they can use the software libraries and components developed by our software team. Our site will include at its core a simple GIS system. So some knowledge of GIS systems would be useful though not essential.</P>
<P>The successful candidate will have a chance to make their mark upon a novel and exciting venture that is at its early stages. As we are a small company, the candidate will be given a lot of autonomy, though they will also be expected to be a team player. There will be plenty of opportunities for career development in the learning of new techniques and technologies.</P>
<P>When applying, please supply samples / examples of your graphical and web work in the form of a portfolio.</P>
<P>Specific Technologies<BR>The candidate must understand HTML, CSS, DHTML, images (in various formats) and have a good working knowledge of Javascript and AJAX.<BR>The candidate should also have experience in designing modular elements of websites promoting re-use of components towards efficient web design.</P>
<P>Specific Tools<BR>We do not want prescribe the tools that the candidate will use. However, we would expect the candidate to have experience with tools such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver Suite, Flash, Etc.</P>
<P>Nice to Have<BR>Though not essential, if the candidate also possesses knowledge of SEO, Web analytics and Site Markup, this would be a plus.</P>

<P>Digital Earth is building a world-class data, information and community platform for the International energy industry. This industry represents 3 to 5% of the global economy but is still relatively untouched by already proven Web 2.0 search and collaboration technologies. The Digital Earth platform will be based on open source software to provide a truly global platform to better access industry-relevant content.</P>
<P>Your challenge, as a Digital Earth employee, will be to deal with the huge amounts of industry data stored with academic institutions, government organizations, commercial data vendors and national data repositories while at the same time building algorithms and data intelligence to crawl, categorize and geospatially reference the unstructured web of information on the internet (as well as proprietary intranet networks). This combination of structured energy data, vertical-specific internet search, and user-generated content will become the definitive repository of energy sector information.</P>
