GPS游戏:MinuteWar (抢旗)

类似于geocaching(藏宝游戏),这个游戏也是将GPS定位、野外到达特定座标点、网上登记交流结合起来的。

我将游戏规则简单翻译了一下,可惜翻译水平很差,大家最好还是看原文:)

Basic Rules

MinuteWar is a game of capture-the-flag using the real world as the playing field and GPS receivers for navigation.

The Game Board

The game is played on a 60x60 grid (3600 squares), with each square being one minute of longitude wide and one minute of latitude tall. (Each square is approximately 1 square mile.) The game uses datum WGS84 and specifies waypoints in HDDD MM.MMM format.

Each point on Earth maps to a location on this game board by using only the "minutes" components of its longitude and latitude (0.000 to 59.999) and ignoring its "degree" components. For example, the waypoint at N41° 51.749 W087° 36.967, which is in Chicago, maps to a point inside square 51x36. Many other points around the world also map to square 51x36.

In some game variants, a smaller game board is used. Smaller game boards are constructed by "tiling" a smaller board inside the full 60x60 board. For example, a game played with tile sizes of 30x30 will have four smaller game boards tiled in the full 60x60 degree square. A move in any one tile is automatically reflected by the same move in the equivalent square in all other tiles. Tile sizes must be a factor of 60 for tiling to work properly.

Flags

At the beginning of the game, each square contains a neutral flag somewhere within it. The neutral flag is in the same relative position in each square. The relative position was chosen at random and is different for each game.

The flags are virtual. There are no physical objects hidden or hunted in this game.

When a player captures a flag, the player takes ownership of the flag for his team. Team flags are indicated on the game board by numbers, which indicate their value.

Capturing Flags

How you capture a flag depends on whether it's a neutral flag or a team flag. It also depends on whether the flag's square is vacant or occupied by an opposing team. At the beginning of the game, all flags are neutral. Some squares may be occupied and some may be vacant, depending on the choice of the moderator who sets up the game.

Flags in vacant squares (white squares) can be captured by any player at any time. In some game variants, the rules require that to capture a flag in a vacant square your team must already occupy an adjacent square, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Flags in occupied squares (colored squares) can be captured by you only if your team already occupies an adjacent square, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. In some game variants, the required closeness to capture a flag might be two squares or more.

Neutral flags can be captured by getting within 100 meters of the flag's exact location on the game board. When that happens, the flag is replaced with one of your team's flags. Also, a "buffer zone" of squares occupied by your team is created around the captured flag. (see Occupying Squares below for details).

In all cases, the "degree" component of a waypoint's latitude and longitude is ignored. For example, visiting any of these real locations would be sufficient to capture the same flag:

Optionally, a player may shift the entire game board in relation to his physical location on the Earth by defining an "offset." For example, an offset of (1,4) will shift the game board by 1 minute of latitude and 4 minutes of longitude. For that player, the waypoint at N41° 51.749 W087° 36.967 will map to square 52x40 (instead of 51x36). Usually, offsets need to be defined before a game begins and cannot be changed for the duration of that game. In some variants, offsets can be changed periodically throughout the game.

Because all players' maps are combined into one, visiting an exact spot on one player's map can be a very different experience than visiting that same spot on another player's map. If a flag on your map is in a location that cannot be reached without excessive risk to your safety or without trespassing or otherwise breaking the law, choose another square. No game is worth that.

Occupying Squares

When a player captures a flag, his team occupies that square and all adjacent squares that still have neutral flags, whether the squares are vacant or occupied. This buffer zone helps protect a team's flags from capture by opposing teams. Depending on the settings for the particular game, the buffer zone could be 3x3 (three squares wide and three squares tall) or 5x5, or even larger.

The captured flag is replaced by a team flag. Except for the captured flag itself, all other neutral flags in the buffer zone remain neutral.

Occupied squares are indicated on the game board by color, depending on the team occupying the square.

Bombs

The flag capture is the basic move in MinuteWar. The other move type is the bomb drop. A bomb clears a square, evicting any team that occupies it. The square is left vacant. In addition, a bomb randomly moves the flag to another position in the square. In some game variants, bombs are not allowed.

The player must visit the location of the flag in order to drop a bomb. Bombs may be dropped on any square with a neutral flag. It is not required to occupy an adjacent square, unlike a flag capture. Bombs may not be dropped on squares with team flags, only on squares with neutral flags.

The purpose of a bomb drop is to open a hole in an opposing team's buffer zone to allow a subsequent attack at a valuable flag. One use of a bomb involves dropping it next to a valuable flag, immediately checking where the flag was moved to, visiting the new location, then reporting the capture of the neutral flag. This puts the player in position to capture the opponent's valuable team flag with his next move.

In some game variants, the bombed flag may return to a neutral flag at its original coordinates if a flag is captured in a nearby square and the bombed square is made part of another team's buffer zone.

Order of Play

At the beginning of the game, each team is given the right to make the same number of moves (flag capture submissions or bomb drops), no matter how many players are on a team or how active the players are. Each team accrues additional rights to moves throughout the game at a constant rate (for example, one move is accrued every six hours) and, in some game variants, through the accrual of bonus moves.

All flag captures must be submitted using the capture submission form on MinuteWar.org.

Any player on a team may submit all, some, or none of a team's flag captures. Members of each team decide among themselves what flag captures will be submitted, by whom, and when. Each submission must be made by the player who visited the spot.

The honor system is used in this game, but your report should provide enough detail to prove your visit. The detail should be of the type that is not obtainable from maps or aerial photos. A photograph is not necessary but can be uploaded to the Photo Album.

The timing of a capture is determined by when the capture is submitted, not when the location was visited. Thus, it is possible that a player may actually be first to a location, but will miss out on the capture because another player visits the same spot and submits the visit first. It is also possible that other players' actions may invalidate a player's attempted flag capture between the time the player makes a visit to a location and the time he can submit it.

A player does not have to submit a flag capture immediately. He can visit many flag locations and save them for submission later at more strategic times. But, if a flag is moved between the time a player visits it and the time he can submit it, the flag is not captured. Also, if a site where a flag is located was visited before the flag was placed there (perhaps by chance), the flag cannot be captured without a return trip to the same location.

Moving Flags

When a player captures a flag, the player must move the flag to a new location. The new location must be within the same square minute of longitude and latitude and at least 100 meters from its previous position.

The simplest method of moving the flag is to select random in the text box for the fractional minutes of where the flag is being moved to. A random location will automatically be generated.

If you want to specify an exact location, fill in the same text box with the three digit value of the fractional minutes of the new location. In this case:

The new location must be publicly accessible on the player's own game board.
Both the previous location of the flag and the new location must have been visited by the player.
The player must have gotten within 10 meters of the new location for the flag.
If you want to specify an exact location, but you cannot reach that location yourself, you may swap latitude and longitude and visit that other spot instead. (For example, you want to place a flag at latitude 23.412 and longitude 30.890, because that's the middle of a lake in your area. Instead, visit 23.890 and 30.412. Then, report that you are placing the flag at 23.412 and 30.890.)
Teams

MinuteWar is a team game. All players must belong to a team, even in games in which there is only one player per team. Team formation can happen in various ways, but until you are registered with the game engine and assigned to a team roster, you will not be able to submit any flag captures.

Scoring

Scoring is based on the settings for any particular game. In some games, the object is to capture more flags than any other team. In other games, the object may be to occupy the most squares (including buffer zones). In still other games, the object may be to accumulate the highest point total, where each square may be worth a different number of points, depending on the status of the flag in that square.

Bonuses may be awarded for various achievements. For example, a team scores extra points for capturing flags, with a bonus for capturing an opposing team's flag. Flag values may also increase over time, so long as you continue to hold them. In some game variants, bonus moves may be awarded teams who occupy a certain percentage of the game board.

A team's score will rise or fall throughout the game as flags are captured and lost. If a flag is worth some points to a team and that flag is captured by another team, all of the points for that flag are lost to the first team. The new point value for the flag may or may not be based on its current point value, depending on the settings for that game.

Winning

The game ends when one team reaches one of the predetermined goals or when time expires. Goal values are set before each game. Some of the goal values may be set so large as to be unattainable. In this case only the other goal(s) apply. The three possible goals are:

Number of points
Number of squares currently occupied
Number of team flags currently held
If no team reaches one of the goals before time expires, the team closest to the (primary) goal when time expires wins the game. Time expires during a random time window defined as part of the game settings.

Game Variants

As indicated above, each game is defined by a set of parameters that specify the size of the game board, the goal of the game, the sizes of buffer zones, the point value for capturing flags, and various other aspects of the game. The game engine is highly configurable, allowing for many different variants on the basic game. See the link labeled "Read the Rules" under each game to find out the specific rules that are in force for that particular game.
